Fruitful weekend for JETSURF FACTORY TEAM

MotoSurf WorldCup 2018 stopped in China for its third round of the championship. Race in Zhejiang, China opened the Asian double header before the series moves to South Korea. JETSURF FACTORY TEAM arrived in China short of one rider – Jakub Kornfeil announced retirement from active motosurf racing before the Asian trip.

However, the team’s flag flew high the whole weekend long. Martin Šula was strong throughout all three days. Fourth fastest qualifying lap and consistent ride in both final motos – Martin Šula came for fourth and third for 3rd position overally. WorldCup veteran and JETSURF creator scored his first 2018 podium.

Martin Šula: “I’m so happy for the 3rd because this weekend has been difficult for everybody. The weather conditions were super hot and physically demanding. I’m surprised I was able to keep the pace and rhythm for the whole race distance. The place we raced at was beautiful and I’m so happy about all the positive vibes people here in China feel about motorized surfing.“

Looks like a dream for the JETSURF FACTORY squad seeing two women class riders on the podium. Riding in brilliant form, Klárka Sitarová (@klarkasitar) was super consistent, avoided mistakes and crashes. All that was enough for 2nd place and first ever podium finish for only 16 years old MSR Engines Team talent.

Klárka Sitarová – 2nd (@klarkasitar): “It was very difficult due to weather conditions. Everything here in China is quite different, food, water, air. Eventually, I think I managed all the new circumstances quite well and enjoyed riding pretty much. Since qualifying where finished 3rd, I felt the pace and confidence. In the heats, I was battling with my team mate Anya Colley and I have to say – enjoyed every single minute. The racing was pretty intense and I think we both had a great time. In the finals, it was pretty much the same. Eventually, I found the little something and made it to 2nd place which is a lifetime result for me and I believe I have become the youngest ever women class podium finisher.“

Briton Anya Colley finished 4th in qualifying and kept the top three pace in most of the heats. Coming to the finals, Anya has proved being better racer than qualifier and left Sunday’s final rounds with two top three positons in the pocket.

Anya Colley – 3rd (@anyacolley52): “I’m so happy for another podium. We had a great battle with Klárka all weekend long and I think we both enjoyed those racing moment full of overtaking maneouvres. This is my second consecutive podium which is great. I think I still need some more board time to make a step forward. Anyways, so happy for bringing Union Jack on the podium and my big thanks to all my partners & JETSURF FACTORY TEAM.“

Elisabeta Faitová had a difficult weekend caused by absence of her board at the race venue. Eli’s accepted the challenge with Race Titanium board – well known for being difficult to ride for girls. And she did quite well. Got 7th place finish in the qualifying and 9th and 6th meant final 7th spot.

Elisabeta Faitová – 7th (@elisabetfait): “I was surprised how quickly I got used to Race Titanium. I had a full respect of this beast but I think I found a way liking it. Just had some issues with riding positon in the finals what didn’t make me feel comfortable. In general, I think it was a good weekend and already looking for the upcoming race.“
